Regina Silveira (Porto Alegre, 1939) participates in the exhibition Consciência Cibernética[ ?](Cybernetic Consciousness). Opening on June 8th at Itaú Cultural exhibition hall in São Paulo, the show's curatorial theme is virtual intelligence and the use of technology as a viable language for art, as reflected by the artists selection. Silveira presents Odisséia, a new artwork developed this year through a partnership between Itaú Cultural and HLRS High Performance Computing Center (an institutional branch of Sttutgart University that is acclaimed and reputed for its international excellence in high-tech scientific research).

The result was a work that brings to the audience a highly immersive and poetic experience by means of cutting-edge technology. Simulating an open air tridimensional labyrinthin structure, Odisséia is a passage (both physical and subjective) where our common perception of gravity and space are altered, relativized and challenged. The audience is invited to wear glasses specially made to create those effects and sensations.

Conceived by Marcos Cuzziol, the show runs until August 6. For more informations, please visit the institution’s website.
