Art Basel Miami 2016

For Art Basel Miami Beach 2016 we present in the Galleries Sector a special project by Geraldo de Barros (Chavantes, 1923 – São Paulo, 1998). The exhibition comprises rare works and studies from different moments of his production, thus presenting a panorama of his prolific and versatile artistic trajectory: photos from the famous Fotoformas series, experimental Formica pieces from the 1980s and 90s, studies on paper, and serigraphs. We will also include furniture designs by Geraldo de Barros to embrace his lifetime dedication to design. Besides Geraldo de Barros we are featuring the works by Bosco Sodi, Caio Reisewitz, Liliana Porter, Héctor Zamora, Tiago Tebet and Tobias Putrih.

Leandro Erlich, "Changing Rooms", 2008

For this edition of FIAC 2016, Luciana Brito Galeria presents the installation Changing Rooms (2008), which is composed of modules of identical changing rooms, where some of the mirrors are replaced by wholes on the wall, doorways to a replica of the same space over and over again. As most of the Leandro Erlich’s production, this piece is at the same time ludic and critic. Based on a game of reflections and of independent units, the installation’s dimension is flexible, but it gains in potency as the available space increases. Tha installation leads the visitor to another part of the booth where a selection of works by Fernando Zarif, Geraldo de Barros, Héctor Zamora, Rafael Carneiro, Raphaël Zarka, Tiago Tebet e Waldemar Cordeiro could be seen.

For the next edition of SP-Arte, Luciana Brito Galeria has prepared an innovative form of participation in art fairs. It will occupy its 120m2 booth with three subsequent solo exhibitions, thus allowing an in depth contact with the production of great names from Brazilian contemporary art, who have prepared new works for the occasion: Regina Silveira, Caio Reisewitz and Tiago Tebet. Plus, the gallery will create a smaller stand within its booth, where the visitors will be able to see a exclusive selection of works by Gaspar Gasparian, Geraldo de Barros, Pablo Lobato, Rochelle Costi, Tiago Tebet, Thomaz Farkas and Waldemar Cordeiro, among others.

This year, in addition to our booth 7D07, with works by artists such as Regina Silveira, Caio Reisewitz, Héctor Zamora and Marina Abramović, we'll have a special booth to celebrate the fair's 35th anniversary, 7B01, with pieces by Waldemar Cordeiro and Raphaël Zarka.
